1.  How do I import meet events into Team Manager?

First, when you installed Team Manager, folders called Hy-Sport and ZIPTemp should have been placed on your hard drive.  Before you start the process, just check and make sure they are there so you will know where to save the meet events file.  Instead of creating all of the meet events on your own, you can just imprt the Meet Events to the following place: open up the Hy-Sport folder, then the TFWin-TM folder, then the TFTMTemp folder.  Save the attachment to this folder.  Then start up Team Manager.  In the file menu, choose Unzip File.  The program will ask you where to look for the file.  "Look In" the TFTMTemp folder that you just saved the attachment to.  Click on the file to select it and click on Open.  It will tell you that it is going to unzip the file to the ZIPTemp folder.  Click on OK and click on Yes when it tells you it will delete everything in that folder.  Then click on Yes when it tells you that you have successfully unzipped the file.

Now go to the file menu and choose Import:Meet Events.  Navigate to the ZIPTemp folder, click on the file that is there (it should be a long name with FCIAC in the name) and click on Open.  When you click on OK it should say Events Imported: 37. Click on OK again and you are done!

Now if you click on MEETS on the Menu Bar it should list a meet named Test Dual Meet #1.&nbsp.

Starting with the second meet, all you need to do is click on MEETS !ADD and fill out the Meet Maintenance form (name the new meet something like FCIAC Outdoor Track Meet #2).  Then click on EVENTS !COPY EVENTS and select the first meet to copy the events from.  You can also choose to import your entries and/or results from the first meet.  This will save time if a lot of your athletes are competing in the same events.

2.  What is my school's long name, short name, and abbreviation?

Click here for a list of school names and abbreviations.

You only need to enter your school name and team code into Team Manager, there is no need to enter other schools.

3.  Where can I get the meet events file?

All coaches were emailed a file with all boys and girls events earlier. If you did not receive this contact us and we will resend it.

If you want to put the events into Team Manager yourself (not recommended), click here for a list of the event number and event names.

4.  How do I get the latest free maintenance update of Team Manager?

Every couple of weeks you should check the Hy-Tek website to see if a free maintenance update of Team Manager has been posted.  Follow the instructions on the website for installing the update.

5.  Where do I e-mail my meet seeds?

You should e-mail your meet seeds to us no later than 6 PM, Friday, May 23. Seeding will be done Saturday morning and posted online by Saturday afternoon.

6.  How do I enter my athletes into events for the first meet?

After you have imported the meet events file and added your athletes into Team Manager, click on MEETS in the menu bar, then on ENTRIES.  You can either do your entries by athlete name or by event.  For this example, click on ENTRIES BY NAME.  Your team roster should be at the top, and the meet events at the bottom.  Click on an athletes name to highlight it.  Then click on the entered check box for each event you are entering the athlete into.  Enter their time, distance or height into the custom mark box.  When you are done, go to MEETS ! ENTRIES ! ENTRY BROWSER to review your seeds for the meet.

7.  How do I export my meet entries so that I can e-mail them to the host site?

After you have entered all of your athletes into their events (including relays), you need to export the entries and e-mail them.  This can be done several ways, here is one.  From the main Team Manager screen, click on MEETS.  Make sure that the meet you want to send is highlighted, and click on ENTRIES ! ENTRY BROWSER.  Now would be a good time to check your entries one more time to make sure that they are correct.  In the upper left, click on EXPORT ENTRIES.  Note that the file is going to be saved to a folder on your hard drive called TFTMwinData.  Make sure that the right meet is displayed in the drop down box and that the Export Relays box is checked. Click on OK.  Start up your e-mail program, address an e-mail to the contact person for the host site, and attach the meet entry file (it will be in the TFTMwinData folder and should be named something like WILT-Entries001.ZIP).  Hit send and hope for the best!

8.  How do I get meet results to import into Team Manager so that I don't have to put them in by hand?

One of the good things about using Team Manager is that after an athlete has done an event once, you can just check a box to enter them into that event for the next meet.  The program will "remember" their best performance and seed them with that.  To get meet results for your team, bring a floppy disk to the meet with your school's name marked on it (make sure that it has been IBM formatted, that it is blank, and that you have scanned it for viruses).  The Hy-Tek operator at the meet will put your team's results on the floppy disk.  Put the floppy disk in your computer and start up Team Manager.  Click on IMPORT ! MEET RESULTS.  In the Look In box, navigate to your floppy drive and click on the file (it should be named something like tcl01-01.tcl).  Click on OPEN, and accepting the defaults in the Import Criteria box (just Import Relays checked), click on OK then Close.  Then click on MEETS ! RESULTS ! RESULT BROWSER (or RESULTS BY NAME or EVENT) and you can review the results from the meet.  When it is time to seed your next meet all of the marks will already be there.

9.  How do I seed my relay teams?

From the main Team Manager screen, click on MEETS, and make sure that the right meet is highlighted.  Then click on ENTRIES !ENTRY BY EVENT.  In the For Team box, make sure that your team is chosen, and highlight the relay that you want to seed by clicking on it.  Click on the NEW RELAY button which will allow you to enter an "A" relay team.  You can either drag and drop the athletes into the Athletes grid or double click on their name (or check the Entrd box).  Next, enter their time in the custom box.  Once this is done you can add a "B" team by clicking on the NEW RELAY button again and following the above directions.

10.  How do I set up my meet entries for the second meet using information from the first meet?

First, make sure that you have followed the steps in #8 to import the results from the first meet into Team Manager.  From the main Team Manager screen, click on MEETS !ADD and fill in the Meet Information in the Meet Maintenance screen.  The essential information is the meet name (something like PVC Outdoor Track Meet #2) and the date.  Click on OK then CANCEL.  You have just added a new meet.  Now you want to copy the meet events from the first meet.  Click on EVENTS !COPY EVENTS, and in the Copy Events From Meet box, choose the first meet.  In the left Copy Options box, choose ALL EVENTS.  In the right Copy Options box, choose BOTH.  Click on OK.  You should then be able to follow the directions in #6 and #9 to seed your athletes and relay teams.  The only major difference from the first meet is that those athletes who competed in the first meet will have performances in the Best Mark column and this mark will automatically go in as their seed mark.  Check the Entered box to enter them in their events.  If the athlete did not compete in the first meet, enter a seed mark in the Custom Mark column.
