Boston Buildup


A series of four metric races of increasing distance, for those training for Boston or a spring marathon, or simply wishing to keep in shape through the winter.

FACILITIES: Buildings should be open at all races. Come dressed to run, bring warm clothing for afterwards. Water station(s) in all races. Mile & 5km splits marked (every km in 10K). Digital clock at finish. ChonoTrack B-Tag timing (gun times). Special GIZMO technical running socks to the first 100 Series entrants, subject to size availability.

POSTPONEMENTS: Postponed races will be held the following Sunday at the originally scheduled site and time. Postponement notice will be posted on this site and the Buildup Facebook page and Twitter feed by 7 a.m. race day (or earlier when possible), and via email to all entrants and those on the Club Connecticut race information maillist.

AWARDS: Long sleeve technical running shirts to the top Overall, Open (39 & under), Vet (40-49), Master (50-59) and Grandmaster (60 & over) male and female in each race who have not already won. The overall Series winners in these categories will receive gift certificates from ASICS for a running outfit of shoes, shirt and shorts (value $200). Series scoring will be based on the Purdy computer point tables, and weighted (best race multiplied by a factor of four, second best by three, third best by two, worst unweighted). Series standings will be posted at this site after 2 races. Jeff Falberg, Series Statistician.

RESULTS: Results will be posted on-site when possible, and posted online at Athlinks in real time and on that afternoon. You can also sign up for text or social media notifications of your results when you register online.

CHECK-IN: Once again, we will be holding pre-race check-in at Runner's Roost in Darien the week preceding each event. Please take advantage of this to avoid the crowds on race morning. Complete details here.
